This unique one day conference brought together individuals from diverse backgrounds including former psychiatric service users, patient activists, students, science journalists and traditional academics for an interdisciplinary discussion on subjects which are taboo or at least unpopular; namely criticisms of the Canadian mental health apparatus in its legal, medico-scientific, ethical, historical, and pharmacological aspects.
